|Fragments from the Book of Abdul|
|Game(s)||Alone in the Dark (1992)|
Extracts from the book of Abdul is a book that can be found and picked up in the Library (2nd Floor) of Derceto. Like De Vermiis Mysteriis, it causes ill effects to anyone who has read the book, unless the protagonist is currently standing on a special tile with a pentagram on it in the Ritual Chamber (2nd Floor) which is accessible via the library. it is less deadly than the other book, losing some health instead of being killed instantly after reading. Upon reading the book, the protagonist is driven to the brink of madness, laying down and beating his head upon the floor before experiencing horrid bodily distortions, stretching and twisting into tortured shapes.
