The Miner's Gazette is a newspaper found in one of the rooms of the Saloon at Slaughter Gulch, which is apparently where a known outlaw named Arizona Kid was murdered in.

Overview[]

The newspaper tells the story about the murder of the outlaw Arizona Kid and tales spread by the townsfolk about his ghost roaming around a portrait painted with his blood and that he could be followed through the painting. The issue provides a clue on how to get past Arizona Kid and the hidden entrance on the portrait.

Inscription[]

MINER'S GAZETTE, July 4th 1864

A year ago, the Arizona Kid was shot
in the back by pitiless Fast Jarrett
Since then, a legend spun by drunken
fools claims that the Kid returns
to haunt the spot where he was murdered
at midnight, during the vulture's song.
...
These fools and liars say the Kid's ghost
then enters a picture of him painted
in his blood. They also say he then
can be followed. Pshaw!

Trivia[]

  • The events and characters in the article are a reference to Billy the Kid, a famous outlaw and gunfighter in the Lincoln County War, that was subsequently found and killed by Sheriff Pat Garrett.
